Well said—I couldn’t agree more. I’m also a strong advocate of value-focused decision-making. The gap between customers and service providers often lies in how value is perceived and measured. A business is generally willing to pay more if it leads to a higher ROI, but outdated and poorly designed KPIs can obstruct value creation. After all, what’s the point of drilling the fastest well if it fails to meet production targets? When companies engage in this conversation, it’s a strong indicator of their maturity—because it requires input from experienced professionals across different disciplines (service and operators). to capture value. How many O&G companies have this level of flexibility, with engineers able to understand the impact of their work across multiple disciplines? My guess is not many, so what about a system that can integrate all the multidisciplinary aspects of value creation?

As you mentioned, with this process the task is able to be completed at a much quicker rate. I think that it would be really interesting to see this process in action. Maybe one day I will be able to see it. Until then, I wonder if there is a video I can watch.

Is the “Drill bit innovations target major barriers to ROP, durability” article part of a theme?

The reason I ask is that I believe there would be a great follow on story to this one… specifically on drilling dysfunction generated at the bit, but dysfunction that cannot be addressed by the bit but another drilling tool further up in the BHA.

There are a number of tools that reduce vibration in some form (axial, lateral & torsional). There is Neo-Oiltools with their NeoTork, Tomax with their AST, Cougar with their MacThruster and Franks with their Hi-Tool. Some of these address only a single source of vibration while others address all three.

My question is MPD or SDS system could be apply on the well that is completed (No drilling , No BOP ) to control annular pressure automatically and connect your system with Kill line of X-mass Tree to perform kill the well and Coiled tubing job in secure cycle .

Really good article and interesting to read that some companies are requiring evidence of contractor competencies. Validation of assessments or Internal Verification is a crucial part of ensuring quality assurance of the assessment process and this is recognised in the article. Great stuff Brooke and Dave!!
